MBSR-certified teacher — Amsterdam.
I’ve been practising meditation for years, co-founded a student meditation community, and trained as a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher. I believe meditation is one of the most practical things a person can do — and also one of the most misunderstood.
Trained and certified as an MBSR teacher. MBSR is an 8-week evidence-based programme developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts. It combines mindfulness meditation, body awareness, and yoga to help people relate differently to stress, pain, and difficulty.
Co-founded a student meditation community in Amsterdam that grew from 4 people to 130 members. Organised weekly sessions, built a volunteer teacher programme, and created a sustainable organisation that continues today. studentmeditation.nl
Meditation has been a consistent thread through my adult life — not always perfect or daily, but always something I come back to. I’ve practiced across different traditions and formats, from breath-focused sitting to body scan to open awareness.
The MBSR programme is the core of what I offer: an 8-week course that introduces meditation as a practical skill, not a belief system. Participants learn to notice what’s happening in their experience — physically, emotionally, mentally — without immediately reacting to it.
The research behind MBSR is substantial. It’s been shown to reduce symptoms of stress, anxiety, and chronic pain, and to improve general wellbeing and focus. But the most common thing I hear from participants is simpler: they feel less like their thoughts are in charge of them.
Details on upcoming MBSR courses and individual sessions coming soon.
If you’re interested in meditation — whether you’re new to it or want to deepen an existing practice — I’d love to hear from you.
